Ongoing quest for meaning and purpose

Every Moment

Hard to believe we’re already on Day 4 of their trip. Well Day 3 if you don’t count the day they arrived. But who’s counting. Oh wait, I am because I want time to go slowly. I’m attempting to savor every second and absorb all of the joy out of it.

We went to Disneyland yesterday and they didn’t know what hit them. They had no idea what to expect and it blew every possible idea they had about it out of the water. You could see their eyes light up at every turn. After each and every ride one or both of them would exclaim, “that one was my favorite.”

It is hilarious to watch Mikey with his Mickey ears. He wants to be so cool and reserved all the time yet he won’t take them off. Today we had a lengthy discussion about what his pirate name would be. Gotta love that.

I hate to admit it but Mike’s back injury was a blessing. Even Mikey noticed it. As we zipped up the exit ramp to the fourth ride he said, “wow, dad’s wheelchair is getting us to the front.” We didn’t get there til 11 a.m. and still rode 14 rides. The park wasn’t too packed because of the cold and rain, but the average wait time was still 20-30 minutes.

Now Jordy noticed everything else. He is a handful. My goodness. You have to keep your hands physically on his all the time or he is gone. Because he focuses on whatever he is beholding at the time in a flash he’s across the park. It’s amazing how fast his feet move.

Today we went to the movies, and walked around Downtown Disney. When we got home Rocio wasn’t feeling well and I made dinner. Jordy was in the kitchen with me. I cooked and he rearranged the magnets on my fridge.

As he was standing there I could hear him singing to himself. I leaned down to listen and heard, “Summer has come and passed, the innocent can never last, wake me up when september ends.”Jordy loves Green Day, who knew? He knows practially all the words to that song.

I don’t want to miss anything. Tomorrow we’re off to Disneyland again.

Kareoke

I didn’t know I’d get to cross something off my life list so soon. I went to a party tonight given by a girl in my new small group. There were lots of new people and a kareoke machine.

I’m not normally a party girl and usually dread large groups of new people. I’m a loud-mouth introvert but a introvert none the less. But after a few diet coke’s and a gooey brownie I was a back-up singer to the Backstreet Boy hit, Quit Playing Games with my Heart. Then I got brave and did a duet to Livin’ La Vida Loca. My grand finale was a group sing-a-long to Kokomo. The Beach Boys tune brought down the house.

It was awesome! I can see how kareoke can be addicting. I think I need my own machine. I might take to it like I took to blogging.

My Life List

I’ve decided to jump on the band wagon and make my own life list of things that that I want to do, experience, and be.

Goals are good right?!

Some of them are trivial, others are philosophical and there are those I included just for fun. Some are clearly delineated and I’ll know when they’re accomplished and others are more vague and difficult to define and determine.

We’ll see what happen as I try and accomplish them.
